The first initiative of the #OneAtATime Community Response Team was to coordinate with the city’s City Wide Garage Sale event and it’s participants to gather any items not sold throughout that weekend, and to host a subsequent Free Rummage Sale the following weekend.

Anyone in need could come to the event and take home anything from the donated items we had collected. No questions asked. This event was extremely successful. more than 80% of the items donated were rehomed, we created a database of families in need to be able to continually update them when events like this would take place, and the remaining items were donated to local thrift stores.
